The Camping Select program is based on a two-tier system, reflecting separate Facility and Activities scores. All scores begin at a one star level and increase in half star increments to a maximum of five stars. Higher star levels are achieved as Facilities, Services, Quality, Amenities, and Recreational items and services increase. Campgrounds voluntarily participate in the Camping Select Rating program.
